Cultural Identity Poster Explanation

       Hello Guys , my poster is about the Brazilian Culture. There are many different things that  is totally different here in United States . My poster talks about 4 topics as Tradition, Food , Sports and Music. Firstly about the tradition. This tradition is called Brazilian Carnival,It is very commom every year many peoples from different cities travel to one specific city and celebrate, there is a video to show you how does it likes. The next one is about food. It very commom brazilians eat one typic food called Feijoada or Stew Bean, normally brazilians love it and eat it for once every day. Another topic is about Sport, I think that Brazil is the Country of soccer, many people knows about the brazilian country by the soccer, and the soccer is the best sport for the brazilians. Just it!

Unit Reflection

     In the classes I Learned a little bit about Culture. Culture is something that is around us. All of the cultures has differents traditions, things that they do , laws and more. If you travel for another country everything will be different than your own country, so culture is learned all the time and it is not inherited. Also I learned about differents terms of culture as Culture Shock. About the culture shock is probably something that all of us realized when we moved to another country as Chicago.Culture shock it means differences between countries, and one example about it is the plastic bags, it commom here to pay for per bags when you buy something at the supermarket, it is totally different in my own country ,actually you can get many plastic bags for free. Another term about the culture that I learned is Ethnocentrism , it is a feeling that lead us to think that our culture is superior than others, something commom today, because sometimes their culture might be stranger or maybe very different for you. Also, many cultures are passed from one generation to another one, because they want to have the same rules , habits . We also learned about the Iceberg culture, there is 3 types of culture, as formal,informal and technical , and each type has a different rule

The formal rule it likes you know the rules, but you do not know the reason. The informal, you do not know the rules and the reason , you do not know why they do it. And the last one is technical, it is like the formal , you know the rules but no the reason.

Well there are many things here in Chicago that is different in my own country , so I have to learn and adapt the American Culture. Understand the rules and the reason.

Diversity Movie Reflection

   It is a great movie and different. I could learn a little bit about the greek tradition by the movie . One different thing that I realized are the parents want their sons our daughters living qwith them for the whole life, something not very commom in this days. Another thing is about dating and married. The father wants his daughter to find a man, but when she found one , he does not want them dating and it is commom parents arrange a partner for their daughter.However that partner has to be like that , he has to be Greek, and be the same religion like them. When the girl does not want to get a married she is sin . So it is a little things that I learned by the movie.
